Linseeds are the shiny, brown, oval seeds of the flax plant - grown for fibre in linen manufacture. Mainly used for oil, the whole seeds themselves are nutritionally valuable, being rich in three essential fatty acids and have a smooth nutty taste. Add to bread dough, or sprinkle over before baking.
