Originated in the East. Pearl Barley is polished Pot Barley, having had both husk and bran removed. Previously the most important bread-grain, now relegated to occasional recipes and beer making! Use in soups or stews - or cook in place of rice. Cook 30-45 mins using 1 cup Barley: 3 cups water.
