Requirements for the production/bagging department.

In our bagging department, essentially what we do is break down bulk size products 25kg, 12.5kg etc into smaller pack sizes available for sale to trade and private customers as part of our deliveries or cash & carry service.

However, there is a lot more to it than that. You will need:

A good level of cleanliness, accuracy & numeracy to maintain the high standards our customers expect.

Some working knowledge of windows-based computer systems, though full training will be given for our bespoke database which you will use on a day-to-day basis.

The ability to prioritize your workload based on demand, but also organic & non organic separation, Allergen awareness, needs of other departments.

Good interpersonal communication skills. You will be working with a small team but also needing to communicate and respond to both the warehouse and sales/buying team.

A reasonable level of fitness, you will be lifting 25kg bags, sometimes a lot of them.

We would also like you to have a penchant for organization. We are looking for someone who could eventually take on the overall running of the bagging department to improve on how things are set up.

You will receive full training on all aspects of the job, most of which will be by doing the work and learning from more experienced staff.

Requirements for Warehouse department

Initially you will be working in the warehouse on Mondays, which is the day most of our goods in arrive.

Depending on the time of year there can be 10-20 pallets that need stripping down and putting in the correct locations in the warehouse, taking into account stock rotation, goods that may be on order for customers, the health and safety of yourself, other members of staff and customers.

We find this is the best way to get to grips with the large range of goods we carry, and how we work as a wholesale warehouse.

You will also be picking goods to go up to bagging, picking customer orders in small teams and doing the necessary paperwork and loading vans for distribution. This again requires attention to detail and accuracy. You will learn this “on the job” but a systemic attitude to tasks will be a great advantage.

We look forward to receiving your application.
