Wheat was first cultivated in Mesopotamia. 'Staff of Life' since recorded time. Flakes are the whole grains, flattened and usually slightly toasted. Wheat flakes are eaten raw as a breakfast cereal or as part of muesli, cooked into, or as part of, a porridge; and baked into cakes and biscuits.
